Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct 6: An ex-executive officer (EO) of Baramulla municipal council has been booked by vigilance organisation, Kashmir (VOK) for allegedly regularising the services of five drivers in the MC. The case was registered against Baramulla MC's ex-EO Ghulam Mohammad Lone of Batwina, Ganderbal, for allegedly making illegal appointments in 2007. Without any competence and in gross violation of the set procedure, he was alleged to have regularised the services of five drivers -- Feroz Ahmad Nadaf of Bandipora, Bashir Ahmad Malik of Baramulla, Manzoor Ahmad Bakshi of Baramulla, Bashir Ahmad Rather of Wagoora and Gulzar Ahmad Khan of Kanishpora, Baramulla. These beneficiaries were regularized on regular pay bands and their salaries had been drawn and released by the EO, who was also found to have attested their service particulars. The VO has booked the accused under section 5(1) (d) read with section 5(2) of Prevention of Corruption Act and section 120-B of RPC. |
