As soon as there were reports that local MLA has reached the spot, a large number of villagers and students assembled on road and started protesting against local MLA for his failure to upgrade the roads in the area.
According to local reports, "MLA Bhagat was stopped on his way to accident spot by villagers who were annoyed over the poor road connectivity to the far remote areas of constituency."
"Whenever people lose their loved ones and these politicians always come to shed crocodile tears,"said angry Ram Swaroop a local resident, adding, "this would not be tolerated anymore." Locals reportedly pulled MLA Bhagat out of his car and manhandled him after his security rescued him the protestors pelted stone on MLA's vehicle. The Police have to keep MLA in a Kacha house for two hours till the situation was pacified. Earlier after the 'Barmeen Road Tragedy, residents of Ghordi and its adjoining areas alongwith students came to road and blocked the main road for several hours.
Agitated protestors said that it has been a long-standing demand for completion of Laddan to Ghordi Road. "The road is in bad shape as even ambulances can't reach our villages because of the bad road condition. There have been several accidents because of poor road condition," said Rahul Sharma a villager.
Speaking to early times Naresh Bhagat son of MLA Dina Nath said, "My father is not well as he is roughed up badly by the villagers. He however added that his father went there to express his sympathies and solidarity with the people in the hour of crisis but they were misguided by some miscreants. He also alleged that concerned ACR Subhash Dogra has failed to handle the situation and is responsible for this what has happened
In its sharp contrast ACR Subash Dogra rejected allegation leveled by MLA's son.
