Tehsil office 'Chiralla' headless since 10 months, Govt unmoved

Jammu, Oct 6: The headless tehsil office of Chirala of Doda district causes immense inconvenience to thousands of people who visit it for various reasons.
Rakesh Charak, Sarpanch of Sanarthawa told Early times that in November 2015 government had transferred Tehsildar Chiralla, Rahul Basotra and till date so far no official has been permanently appointed at the vacant post. In the absence of the official, people of nine Panchyats had been suffered badly and the office has become almost defunct.
Many people including students who want to obtain income certificates, caste certificates and other documents for various proposes but due to the absence of the official, they were facing inconvenience and were not able to get the document.
Rakesh further said that in absence of Tehsildar, the administration of Chiralla teshil were not functioning smoothly. "Suresh Manhas a local resident visited at Teshil Chiralla where he found a Naib- Tehsildar and Patwari when enquired about the other administrative officials, they replied the post of Tehsildar are lying vacant for the last nine months and rest of others patwari are sitting in old Tehsil", Rakesh Charak said, adding that if the officers are sitting in Thatri then what's the purposes to establish administrative unit here.
"Newly administrative unit in Chiralla creates confusion to innocent people of the area at present if anyone needs of Permanent Resident Certificate (PCR) without Tehsildar who will issue the certificate. PCR in not isolated work which was done in teshil, rest of other works are also suffer, people from far flung area daily visit for their vital work but their repeated visits all in vain", he said, adding that many times people of nine panchyats urges district administration and MLA concerned to fill the vacant post of Tehsildar either gave a charge to Naib-Tehsildar but without assurance nothing has done.
"When peoples visits teshil the present officials refers to teshil Thatri giving excuse in absence of Tehsildar Chiralla, Tehsildar Thatri is the in charge but when they visits Thatri they also referred them to concerned Chiralla, months lapse but the drama is still continue", he rued.
"In a Tehsil, a Tehsildar is responsible for recovery of government dues under various acts, for preparation and maintenance of tehsil revenue record and revenue accounts and also have to control over the working of Patwaris and Kanungos", he said, adding that no official at Chiralla Tehsil maximum patwaris does not visit the Tehsil office. People from Sanarthawa, Chiralla, Rokali, Poneja, Phagsoo and other areas falling under jurisdiction of this Tehsil office lament official apathy and demand immediate posting of Tehsildar in the office so that they won't face hardships in future.
