PHC Sathra dysfunctional, people facing problems

SATHRA, Oct 6: After investment of more than Rupees one crore rupees, the primary health centre (PHC) of block Sathra is in defunct conditions. According to the sources the Public Health Centre(PHC) Sathra is dysfunctional after completion of long periods of about eight years and investment of a crore rupees.
Locals of the area alleged that the authorities of the health department are in slumber and people are facing problems. They said the whole block is totally ignored by the department which means that the department has totally failed to provide necessities to the common masses.
Mumtaz Ahmed, a local said that on many occasions they have approached to Deputy Commissioner Poonch, who many a time directed chief medical officer for further necessary action, but CMO often remains silent which shows that he may be also involved in this matter. Another Abdul Jabar appealed to deputy commissioner Poonch and higher authorities of the health department to do the need of public full in Sathra block.He said the public comes here from far flung areas to there for treatment where the doctors always are not available resulting which the people have to go to SDH Mandi or DH Poonch.
He said there are many other transport and building facilities available, only this facility can help the poor. He said the building and ambulance is totally dysfunctional without services. The locals allegedly said they have also approached MLA Poonch in this regard but he is also in slumber. They warned that if the PHC is not made functional as early as possible, they will come on roads for their basic rights.
