Early Times Report

Jammu, Oct 6: Movement for Justice for 1947 POJK (MJR-47) Refugees convened a special meeting today at Miran Sahib where in apart from its executive committee members heads from all areas participated. The issues which come under discussion included review of progress action taken by Govt. After making presentation for rehabilitation of POJK 1947 refugees before All Party Parliamentary Delegation in Jammu on 05-09-2016, it observed martyrs day to pay respectful homage to those who made supreme sacrifice in tribal raid of 1947 on state and saved it as per past practice besides chalking out future line of action for getting justice to DP's of 1947. All members were highly critical that despite clear advisory by Home Minister in APPD meet , the MOS in PMO has not convened the meeting of all DP's and instead West Pakistan refugees met both the MOS and Home Minister in Delhi. Pursuant to advisory of H.M, MOS office at Delhi was contacted both on telephone as well as through proper request in this regard but with no success till date and will peruse it further but it is most unfortunate that Parliamentary Delegations visited state whenever the situation like the present unrest in the state arises, hear people, but action is not taken at all . Even the amount of Rs. 2000 Crore package already announced by PM for POK 1947 Chamb refugees in Nov, 2015 has not been released so far, despite lapse of more than 10 months. This lacklustre attitude of this Govt. has made people to realize that present dispensation is not serious about refugee's problem.
They reiterated that both state Govt. as well as centre should take immediate steps and release funds for disbursement as recommended by Joint Parliament Committee on Home Affairs along with other part of package regarding reservation for wards of DP familles. Prominent people who participated in the meeting included, Dr- Padam Dev Ramin, Comrade Om Parkash, Bodh Raj Sharma, Krishan Lal Sudan, Harjit Singh, Raj Kumar, Suchwant Singh.
