Jammu, Oct 13: National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) has appealed the Prime Minister to declare the two most important festivals of Karva Chauth and Bhai Dooj as national holiday for women employees working in Central/state governments under Negotiable Instrument Act.
"These festivals not only have a deep rooted cultural significance, but also symbols of women empowerment and by these Indian society has been recognizing the importance of womenfolk", NMC president said, adding that they have sent a memorandum of demands to PM Narendra Modi.
