Nitesh Sangral Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 13: The inspection of Indira Gandhi Government Dental College (IGGDC) Jammu by the expert panel scheduled on October 13, has set tongue wagering as it was reportedly cancalled due to Principal's meeting at Srinagar but surprisingly the Principal was in town, sources said. Sources said the Director Colleges Development of University of Jammu Jai Kumar Sharma said the inspection has been postpone due to Principal has to attend a meeting at Srinagar. Contesting the claims of Director, sources told Early Times that Principal was in town and he also attended his office today and which raised question on his presence in Jammu. Some doctors asked then what reason is behind to postpone the inspection which is necessary to get affiliation for running new batch from University of Jammu. Sources said that an inspection team comprising seven experts from State as well as outside the State were called by the JU to inspect required standards in infrastructure, faculty, research and other. "But the Principal of said college had written latter to the office of Director Colleges Development University of Jammu and requested to cancel inspection of the colleges as he was not available on the scheduled date." "The reasons why he communicated to panel and sought change in schedule may be better known to him only, sources, said, adding, "this has apparently raised eyebrows for raising doubt as according to principal he shall not be present on due date as he has to attend meeting at Srinagar but in reality he attended his office." Sources claimed, inspection team had to take some hours to inspect the colleges and there are five days left to attend meeting on October 17, 2016 at Srinagar. Due to postponement of inspection of the college many eye brows have been raised as the concerned authority failed to overcome the shortcomings "The authority has failed to overcome all shortcomings viz there is shortage of reference books, update books stock which will help students to learn more about the diseases and its treatment and failed enhance the essential infrastructure, "Sources alleged, adding, keeping this in view, the inspection was postponed. Due to indifferentl approach of authorities at helm, the students are worried about their academics because lacking the infrastructure the institute shall directly affect the quality of education and their research work at IGGDC Jammu, a faculty member told, wishing anonymity and added it is affecting medical students badly. |
