Early Times Report
JAMMU, Oct 13: An IPS officer's role has been virtually reduced to marking attendance only because for the past two months, he has no work to do as PHQ has given him no 'significant' posting. "After shifting him from the district, he headed as its SSP, the government is deliberately not posting him anywhere because it wants to punish him for not taking suggestions of ministers during the initial days of unrest in the valley and for taking important decisions on his own," police sources said. Except him, all other police officers, who were transferred with him, had been given new posting, but he was posted at a place where he 'visits office only to mark his attendance and has no other work to do'. "Though he is quite powerful in police circles and has served most of the time at important positions in the valley, he is presently finding it hard to manage a choice posting for him. He was once posted in Jammu too, but had soon got his transfer order modified and gone back to the valley," sources said. Sources said while the senior police officer, who had earlier got him posted as district SP, had again recommended his name for an 'important' posting in the valley, the government rejected the proposal and issued his attachment orders. "There are some vacant posts in Kashmir, but the government is not posting him against any of them because it has not liked his style of working. There are three more officers of his batch. Two of them are district SPs and the third too is holding a significant post. Though a senior officer has made repeated efforts for his good posting, the government has so far not given its nod to this effect," sources informed. |
