Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 13: The Udhampur unit of Directorate of Field Publicity, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India organised a special interactive programme at Government Higher Secondary School Batote today. The day long programme was presided over by Shri Jagjeet Singh, Principal of the Institution. Health related issues with special emphasis on immunization ,breast feeding, mother and child health care etc. were focussed in which about 250 babies and women drawn from various anganwadi centres were medically examined by a team of experts headed by Dr. Adil Irshad, Medical Officer CHC, Batote. Nagina Gilani supervisor, ICDS Project Batote also interacted with mothers and appreciated the campaign launched by Directorate of Field Publicity. An inter-school quiz contest was another feature of the daylong programme in which four teams participated. The questions relating to maternal child healthcare including newborn babies/adolescent girls etc. were put to the participating teams. This quiz contest was organised to disseminate all components of IEC (information, education and communication) to aware masses. Gurnam Singh, In-charge Field Publicity Unit, Udhampur highlighted the importance of such campaigns and unveiled publicity strategy for the main programme. Rajouri Unit of DFP headed by Shri Vikram Uppal, In-charge Field Publicity Unit, Rajouri also participated in the said function. The registered parties of Song and Drama Division enthralled the audience by staging colourful cultural programmes on the theme. |
