Harsh Dev criticizes Government for politics over defence
10/13/2016 10:06:44 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 13: Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party chairman, Harsh Dev Singh has accused all the major political parties with playing Machiavellian politics for vested political interests and electoral gains by politicking over defence and security issues of country.
According to press release, he said that not only were the statements of opposition parties over surgical strikes unwarranted but also the statement of Defence Minister made yesterday, that the earlier strikes by the Army made during UPA rule did not amount to surgical strikes, was equally preposterous and amounted to insult and dishonour of Army's feats in the past.
He said that it did not behove the Defence Minister to downplay the perilous operations executed by the Army in 2011, 2013 and 2014 including operation 'Ginger' and 'operation Badla' only because it did not suit the political interests of BJP. He said that equally ridiculous was the justification given by the Defence Minister that earlier strikes were of 'Low Intensity', 'covert' and 'without sanction'. He said that in his desperation to deny the factum of previous surgical strikes, the Defence Minister even dis-regarded the fact that the valiant soldiers in 2011 had brought the heads of three Pak soldiers in retaliation to the beheading of two Indian Soldiers by enemy forces. He was addressing huge public meetings during his two days tour of Chani, Satrairi and Jansal Villages of Ramnagar constituency.
Calling upon the political parties to refrain from unwarranted intrusion into the domain of Army, Singh said that the credit for successful execution of surgical operations always belonged to our proud Armed forces. He said that it were the valiant soldiers who were safeguarding our lives and liberties and risking their lives and attaining martyrdom in the process but the failed politicians shamelessly continued to draw political mileage out of their supreme sacrifices. Regretting the politics being played over defence and security of the country particularly by BJP, he said that such strikes were required to be kept as 'top secrets' in the interest of national security.
Ridiculing the BJP for vainly attempting to salvage its dented credibility through surgical strikes of Army, Mr. Singh said that it may do well by initiating action on its election time promises. He said that people were eagerly awaiting for the arrival of 'Achhe Din' so loudly trumpeted by the saffron leaders during elections besides realization of the slogans of 'good governance', 'Accountability', 'transparency', 'freedom from corruption', youth empowerment and employment', 'inflation control', "sabka saath, sabka vikas" besides others marketed by BJP with great fan fare.
Regarding the local issues of Ramnagar constituency, Harsh Dev Singh expressed grave concern over the in-ordinate delay in preparation of 'Aadhar Cards' which had posed numerous problems for the general public, besides depriving employment to Job Card holders under MG-NREGA.
Prominent among those who addressed the gatherings included Dharam Singh Bittu, Karnail Singh, Rajesh Sharma, Baldev Mankotia, Vivek Anand Sharma, Bodh Raj, Sushil Singh, Joginder, Parshotam Sharma, Mohinder Singh, Rishu Sharma, Gorav Sharma, Sunil Singh, Rakesh Verma, Naresh, Sohan Singh, Manohar Lal, Ravi besides others.
