Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 13: Hardly 9 kilometers from the city, a locality comprising over 100 families us craving for power since August when a transformer collapsed in a storm. According to inhabitants of Master Sohan Lal Chowk, Raipur Domana the authorities including the lineman, JE and AEE seem reluctant to reinstall the transformer. "Most of the families are forced to light candles, since the day when transformer's poles collapsed in the storm in the month of August", said, one of the resident adding that presently, around 70 families are completely without power while rest are managing electricity thorough hook system. "Transformer was installed out of CDF of Muzafer Parray MLC, out of available funds worth 6 lakhs only 13 poles one transformer and wire was purchased and installed by the Power Development Department last year", they said. They alleged the lineman of the area only visits the houses, where he has allowed use of hooks to some. "From day one, we begun to request him to replace damaged pole, but he never paid any hee", said another resident and added that even the department disowned the damaged property of PDD. "When we met concerned JE and AEE, they too disowned the responsibility to repair theb fallen transformers", the local alleged and added that now they are pinning their hopes on concerned Executive Engineer. "We, several times have informed the XeN but he too is buying time", they added. The resident further said that oil in transformer has also leaked, if they (officials) take it seriously the loss can be reduced. When contacted Executive Engineer, Sanjeev Sharma said that the transformer would be re-install shortly. "The resident contacted me today about the issue", he said, and added that material required for re-installation has been issued. |
