Whether surgical attacks require debates on national TVs
Mahadeep Singh Jamwal10/13/2016 11:40:23 PM
The national TVs are aglowing nowadays only with the nonstop telecasting and conducting debates on surgical attacks conducted by the Indian Army in the third week of September 2016. All these telecasts if encountered upon in right perspective, one come to the conclusion that these are only directed to the long stature of our PM only and appears to be election type propaganda. The National Channels kept this debate (by inviting Pakistani retired army officers also) alive for such a long period that it ultimately started irritating the common masses. The debates are just nothing but only 'mud smingling', on each other and crying and shouting. Common man has realized the common sense of the persons debating on channels. Some of the anchors themselves become the Judge and they shout more than the participants. In a nut shell the debates are nothing but wastage of time and energy. Many participants have just smattering knowledge and occupy the debating seats just for mean popularity.
The common man feel psychologically effected by these continuous debates, live programme and all time news and is creating a sense that they are making us to realize that the surgical attacks have actually been conducted as a question mark stand raised from many quarters. The government's word should be taken as the last word on the issue and senseless persons should be dealt with who are corrupting the minds of people and National TVs are playing a dangerous role in it.
India confirmed on 29th September, Thursday morning that Indian armed forces carried out surgical attacks on terrorist positions along the Line of Control. These attacks were in retaliation to the attack on Uri Brigade by terrorists killing approximately 18 Army-men and in furtherance of the statement of the PM that the killing of these soldiers will not go un- answered. This came as a big statement of unanswered from PM that India will not sit quietly in the face of adversity and it will act to neutralize any threat to the country. The surgical attacks follow attempts by India to solve the issue diplomatically.
The surgical attacks are a shift from the first adopted peaceful retaliation stances of PM, it was logical to counter Pak on diplomatic terms, but continued efforts from Pak to support terrorists and infiltration activities in India have shown the attitude of Pakistan. The DGMO revealed that India has foiled at least 20 infiltration bids from Pak during this year and the Poonch and Uri attack were not the last planned. As further strikes were planned against India and after receipt of information by army of terror launch pads being mobilized, Indian Army acted to neutralize them and announced that there are no further plans to carry out any such attacks for the time being.
The surgical attacks were given so much media coverage by National TVs that many politicians jumped in, to comment on the attacks.
We kept celebrating and discussing the surgical attacks in such an unrequited manner that PM had to intervene and to instruct that only government spokesperson will speak on the issue. The attacks were presented by the media in such a way that Ram Madhav had to issue the statement that "ISS KO BADA CHADA KR DIKHANA THEEK NAHI". Such statements were issued only after accusing attack by other political parties as the BJP wants to gain political mileage out of this attack, till then it was only the topic hotly promulgated by the BJP and were crediting the Modi Jee of it, without realizing the act of Indira which cut the country in two pieces. The claims of the attacks only one in the history made former Defense Minister Sharad Pawar to speak that earlier too many such attacks have been conducted but not propagated like this one for political mileage. A surgical attack by the Indian Army in Pakistan territory in 2011 left at least eight Pak soldiers dead, with three of them decapitated, It was a revenge attack where Pak killed 13 soldiers, captivated and heads of two were taken along. The revenge attack was confirmed by non else than the Major General (retired) S.K. Chakr-avorty, who planned and executed the operation as chief of the Kupwara-based 28 Division, During the operation heads of Pak soldiers Subedar Parvej, Havaldar Aftab and Naik Imran were brought and buried but laterally dug up burnt and ashes were thrown into river Kishen Ganga.
From the fissures appeared on these surgical attacks within the country among political sphere is required to be condemned with one voice as the fissures are just the 'Vote Bank Rajniti' but not the true spirit for the motherland.
Presently the situation stays tense between the two countries. Now under the concerns of Pakistan military retaliation, the US has also stepped in to attempt and calm the situation. US Secretary of State earlier urged India and Pak to restrain from escalation. The immediate statement of India about scrapping Indus treaty with Pak remained in lime light for few days but it's out come with water resource ministry of PM never came to public domain, but came to lime light was that China has acted on the Brahma-putra, an important river water for India. We are propagating to isolate the Pakistan on international sphere and are eager to get it declared as 'Terrorist Country', but it is surprising that no move was made to declare it by our own India. We are clamoring to isolate Pakistan diplomatically but so far we have not seen or heard any such move. We are continuing diplomatic relations with Pakistan, we are carrying on business relations, we had not taken any decision to with draw Most Favored Nation Status, we had not moved forward to declare it as 'Terrorist State', we have not restricted the passport visa, and so many other measures. We are hearing the murmurs of the many lips that all is a staged drama to push back the main issue of Kashmir burning for the last ninety days claiming nearing hundred lives and injuries to thousands and center has totally failed to tackle the issue and just supporting the state government as a lunatic and to save the image of the Modi government as it has heavily claimed to teach a lesson to Pakistan as the situation on the borders is no different than prior to surgical attacks. Come what may but we must have the senses to speak in the right perspective for the motherland and we should not try to become over intelligent to discuss the security related concerns and the actions of the army.
