65 souls living under 'blackout' for last two months

Bunjwah, Oct 13: The villagers of village Mori of panchyat Mori in Tehsil Bunjwah of KIshtwar district today alleged that the PDD authorities have failed to replace the transformer in the area forcing 65 persons to live blackout for over two months.
Expression serious concerns and anguish over non availability of basic facilities in village Mori of panchyat Mori in Tehsil Bunjwah, the residents of said village informed this correspondent that in this modern age of technology they are still forced to live in stone-age.
They said that amid tall claims of Power Development Department headed by Dy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh claims about repairing of old wires and installation of electric poles for better transmission the things on ground zero are completely different.
"Bunjwah the remote region of kishtwar district has been neglected, they said, adding, " and the village Mori's story is also the same as residents of village are forced to live under total blackout as the PDD authorities have failed to replace damaged transformer since last two months.
Recalling the ordeal, a local resident on anonymity said that after transformer developed a technical snag, none officer from PDD has visited here despite repeated requests to the concerned authorities.
When concerned Foreman Sudershan Sharm told over phone that it is very hectic to bring the damaged transformer to road side from a hilly terrain and this is why the replacement is delayed.
Another local resident complained that PDD had hiked their monthly fare more than Rs325/- but people are asked to transport the damaged transformer at road side at their own.
Reliable source informed that PDD is charging @97 to those who are their relatives and are having political image but is charging Rs 325 to those who are not having any political influence.
The protestors said that people are facing many hardships due to complete blackout in area for last two months and no one at the helm of affairs is ready to listen to their woes.
Local residents seeks personal intervention of DC Kishtwar Ghulam Nabi Balwan to look in this matter and direct concerned department in replacing the damaged transformer at an earliest otherwise they will be forced to stage a massive demonstration in front of DC Office Kishtwar.
