Braving severe cold and hostile weather, thousands of devotees participated in the ‘Nagar Kirtan’ procession considered as an unprecedented by the people of city keeping in view the number of participants.

Jammu, Jan 2: Chief Minister-elect Omar Abdullah wants to make a different –he prefers to stay at his private residence instead of moving into Chief Minister’s bungalow, both in Jammu and Srinagar.
The security agencies, however, are not quite easy with this suggestion as Chief Minister’s residence is not about family requirements only but also involves security and protocol requirements.

Shillong, Jan 03: In a clear message to Pakistan, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Saturday said that India will go to any extent to root out terror and ensure the safety of its citizens. Jammu, Jan 3- A Pak intruder was shot dead in RS Pura sector near the barbed wire fence by the alert BSF jawans in the wee hours of Saturday.
According to BSF spokesman a Pakistani youth aged between 25-27 years made a futile bid to negotiate barbed wire fence near Kharkhola post in RS Pura sector and was challenged by the BSF patrol party.
The spokesman said that the BSF jawans before opening fire on the intruder directed him to surrender.
