With religious fervour and gaiety Indian Air Force (IAF) for 28th consecutive year celebrated Durga Puja at Satwari Air Force Station, which culminated today with Sindoor Puja and immersion of Goddess Durga.
Sources said that to mark the occasion a cultural programme by Air warriors and their families was presented.
Group Captain Vishwanath Prakash, who was the chief guest on the occasion, congratulated the artists for their excellent performance.

A retired Ugandan Army officer, who was arrested on August 3 this year from Satwari cantonment, today created a flutter when he jumped out a police Gypsy in an attempt to escape.
Rashid Hassan alias Muhammed Yousaf, who claimed himself to be a retired Lieutenant Colonel of the Ugandan Army, was being escorted back by police from Janipur court complex, today when he suddenly jumped out of the gypsy near New Plots and tried to escape, sources said.
However, cops escorting the African chased him and after a hot pursuit they arrested him from a lane in New Plots near Amphalla.

Jammu and Kashmir government is all set to appoint financial commissioner Home BR Kundal as the new chief secretary of the state, replacing C Phunsog, who is retiring on October 31. The decision, to this effect, is likely to be taken in the state cabinet meeting, which is scheduled for Tuesday morning.
Well informed sources in the civil secretariat disclosed that Kundal is likely to be the first chief secretary from Jammu region. He would supercede C Phunsog, the first ever CS from Ladakh.
