Farooq sings for Azad
Says: Aaj Jane Ki Zidd Na Karo
11/29/2007 11:17:56 PM
Early Times Reporter Jammu | Nov 29 The stage was set. The location has ambience. The atmosphere was entertaining but had political undercurrents. And the heartthrob in Dr Farooq Abdullah resists an offer to sing in presence of Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad –it is unimaginable. It was the occasion of diamond jubilee celebrations of the city's elite Amar Singh Club. Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad graced the occasion in his capacity as president of the Club. Former Chief Minister Dr Farooq Abdullah, who too had remained its president, literally stole the show last evening as if singing has become his favourite pastime. Though the club had specially flown in artists from Mumbai but when...

Corporators flaunt VIP panache, judges clueless
Government asks govt to file statement in inclusion states
11/29/2007 11:14:20 PM
Early Times Reporter Jammu | Nov 29 On the roads of our city and countryside, there is an irony of fate. The Municipal Corporators and district and block presidents of political parties have a VIP status statement but the higher officers of judiciary are clueless about their protocol. Around seven months back, the Jammu and Kashmir High Court had asked the government to inform the court about inclusion of Districts and Sessions Judges in the category of red flasher lights but a statement is yet to come. Interestingly, the sale of beacon lamps in the markets is rampant which, obviously, are being bought like hot cakes by the corporators, councilors and obscure political persons as there i...

He admitted that the options were not fully weighed and threat perception of rebellion was not analyzed while taking decision on the nominee. Pleading anonymity, the Congress leader squarely blamed PCC C...
