Whether “In Power” or “Out of Power” it has now become a routine for all the politicians of the J&K state, irrespective of their political affiliations, to use red lights on their personal vehicles throughout despite clear cut directions of the High Court on the use of red light on vehicles. Meanwhile, Police authorities hesitate to initiate action against these erring politicians fearing backlash from them after their return to power.
Authoritative sources told “Early Times” on the condition of anonymity that almost all the politicians of the state, irrespective of their political affiliations, continue to use red lights on their vehicle despite knowing the fact that they are not authorized for the same. Even the sitting MLAs and MLCs are not even allowed to use red light on their vehicles, only those holding the position of ministers are authorized for using the same. A spokesman of Food Corporation of India has denied the report published in a section of press here that CBI during its raid had noticed major irregularities in FCI depots here as factually incorrect and baseless.
FA Khan General Manager of the Corporation in a communication while confirming the CBI inspection of its depots on March 5 last said that as per the preliminary enquiry after conducting peripheral counting and bag to bag re-weightment of stocks, no major irregularity was noticed in any of the depots inspected. He said the stocks were found intact as per the book balance.
