| Governor lays foundation of 8 residential buildings at SMVDIME | | Asks for expeditious completion of upcoming Institute of Medical Excellence and other major projects of Shrine Board | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 29: Mr. N. N. Vohra, Governor, has stressed the need for expeditious completion of the upcoming Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Institute of Medical Excellence (SMVDIME) at Kakryal and of the other major ongoing projects of the Shrine Board.
The Governor said this while laying the foundations for the construction of 8 buildings blocks in the upcoming SMVDIME complex last evening. Being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 51 crore, these buildings are Dhanvantri Bhawan and Aayush Bhawan (Senior Resident Doctors’ Accommodation), Ashvin Bhawan (Doctors’ Hostel), Nivedita Bhawan (Nurses’ Hostel), Sushruta Bhawan (Accommodation for Ancillary Staff), Charak Bhawan (Class-IV Accommodation), Aarogya Bhawan (Patients’ Inn), and Sanjeevani Bhawan (Guest House). Work on the construction of some of these buildings has already commenced on the ground.

JAMMU, Mar 29: The manual cleaning of wards, corridors and rooms at SMGS hospital and GMC Jammu today got replaced by a sophisticated mechanised cleaning with the induction of machines imported from Italy.
Minister for Medical Education, Youth Service and Sports, Mr. Taj Mohi-ud-Din inaugurated the mechanised cleaning which has a speed of cleaning about 20,000 square feet per hour and it is expected to clean the entire hospital within few hours.
