BHADERWAH : Buckling under the intense pressure from the family members and relatives of a kidnapped minor girl of Nalthi village, the police finally came out of deep slumber and launched massive search operation to trace out the abducted girl and her kidnappers. The 11-year old Kajal Devi was kidnapped from Nalthi village of Bhaderwah and to locate her police today called five persons of Athkar village for questioning and after three hours of sustained interrogation they were allowed to go back to their homes. The police asked all of them to present themselves at the police station as and when required, SDPO Bhaderwah Jameel Ahmed said. He also informed that a police team since yesterday has raided the various hideouts and villages to trace out the 5th class student. However, parents of the kidnapped girl informed that they have given the name of accused to police, who hails from Nalthi village and is absconding from the day of kidnapping. ...

Early Times Report JAMMU, July 7: President of the National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) Subash Shastri today demanded exemption of Dearness Allowance from the ambit of income tax as this is linked with price index. Addressing an impressive rally of NMC workers here, Shastri said that the price escalation is directly linked with the Dearness Allowance of the salaried class and pensioners but it was strange that the income tax is also imposed on the increase of the salaries because of DA. Kishtwar : Two teenage girls were killed after being hit by shooting stone in village Drubeel, Chatroo, in Kishtwar. According to police, Sushma Devi (14 yrs) daughter of Krishan Lal and Diksha Devi (12 yrs) daughter of Satish Kumar both resident of village Drubeel Chatroo in Kishtwar district died were killed after they were hit by shooting stone, while grazing cattle in nearby forest area. As soon as local people received the news, large number of people rushed to the spot and recovered the dead bodies. Technical snag detected in Delhi bound Spicejet flight

JAMMU, July 7: A Delhi bound Spice Jet flight SG 858 was grounded at Jammu airport for about three hours following timely detection of a technical snag minutes before it was scheduled to take off on Sunday. The flight which was scheduled to take off at 3.20 pm was delayed by almost 3 hours and took off from Jammu at 6 pm causing lot of hardships to passengers. According to official sources, while the flight was being parked at Bay 2 airport the staff detected smoke billowing out from the tail end of the plane.
