Srinagar, August 26 :- Two Kashmir centric organization,the PDP and the National Conference, gunning against each other for regaining power in Jammu and Kashmir are likely to include some contentious issues in their poll manifestos for mobilizing voters support in the next election.
Party sources said “the PDP has fulfilled a number of commitments it made in its 2002 poll manifesto.We have decided to include self-rule,demilitarization and the repeal of Armed Forces Special Powers Act in our poll manifesto during the next election.” According to the PDP General secretary,Nizam-ud-Din Bhat,”the PDP has launched a struggle for securing implementation of its document on self-rule and the same issue would find place in our poll manifesto.” He said besides self-rule the issue of withdrawing troops from within the civilian areas and repeal of Armed Forces special powers Act was very close to the hearts of people in the state and “we shall keep it at the top of the party poll manifesto.”

Jammu, August 26, : Feeling the heat of having missed an opportunity to nab JeM Divisional commander Saifullah Qari, during his stay at a rented accommodation in Janipur area Jammu and Kashmir police has now decided to propose to the state Government to enact a law which would make it mandatory for landlords to furnish complete details of tenants living in their houses.
The Government would be told to get this piece of legislation adopted by the state legislature so that every landlord was bound to submit details of the antecedents of the tenants,living in their houses,to police stations in their respective areas.

To bring an end to the controversies which have grappled Institute of Music and Fine Arts (IMFA), Jammu University has been asked to begin process of taking over the arts institute.
In this regard, a meeting of Divisional Commissioner Jammu and Jammu University (JU) vice chancellor was taken place recently, wherein the initial talks and modalities of taking over were discussed.
Sources informed that the Chief Minister, Ghulam Nabi Azad who is also president of Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Arts, Culture and Languages had directed the VC to meet the Div Com and begin the process of taking over the IMFA by the Jammu University.

Srinagar, Aug 26 : Unidentified militants ambushed a joint patrol party of SOG and Rashtriya Rifles in Kupwara district. Though no causality was reported from the area, Lashker-e-Toiba claimed the responsibility of the attack.
Sources said that a search party of SOG, 28 –RR was ambushed by the militants at Forest area Dooraswani in Sogam area of Kupwara district.
During operation militants fired upon operational party which was retaliated, but the militants managed to escape taking the advantage of forests.
However, no loss of life or injury was reported in the incident.

It may look incredible but it is hard fact that the suicide cases among the anti-insurgency forces have shown an upward trend in the recent past and hardly a day is left when reports about suicide by the jawans are not pouring in from different places in the trouble torn Jammu and Kashmir State.
Despite this growing trend the authorities have not done little to contain it nor has it been able to know the causes behind these.
