However, the orders were rescinded late in the evening after massive protests from the public. Thousands of people defied curfew restrictions and gathered at Digiana, outside the office of JK Channel following which the district administration withdrew its order of morning which had prohibited telecast by these channels. Early Times Reporter Jammu, Aug 3: On twelfth straight day of ongoing agitation for Shri Amarnath Shrine land, people in strong numbers once again vehemently defied curfew restrictions and took out protests and demonstration in different parts of Jammu city and several other areas of the region. Reports of violation of prohibitory restrictions and protests and demonstrations have also been received from Samba, Udhampur and Rajouri districts. Jammu, Aug 3: Found on the sorry side of fence, the government today sought to clarify that no ban of any sort has been imposed on the media in Jammu except prohibition of telecast of provocative material by two cable television networks. The order of prohibition on transmission by two local cable network channels in Jammu issued by the District Magistrate was warranted by provocative and inflammatory content telecast by these during the past several days despite being advised by the administration not to do so, said the government. Jammu, Aug 3: With no results after four days of his hectic efforts in Jammu, the Governor NN Vohra today returned to Srinagar where he reviewed supply and stock positions in Kashmir Valley. An official spokesman said that the Governor, Mr N N Vohra, has been personally monitoring the movement of supplies to the Kashmir valley and the overall situation in Jammu region. He has given strict instructions to the Administration to ensure uninterrupted flow of supplies across the Banihal. He has also reiterated his appeal to the people of Jammu to maintain calm.
