Early Times Reporter Jammu | Aug 4 • Home, Defence Secretaries rushed in to J&K • PM may convene all-party meet on August 6 • IB report describes agitation as mass movement • Home Minister assures more security deployment After loss of seven lives in past three days and still no signs of any improvement in the situation, the Central Government has finally woken up from its slumber and kicked off measures to find early solution of the issue. Peeved over the “alarming inputs”, the Prime Minister’s Office and the Home Ministry received the Central Government rushed two top bureaucrats to Jammu to review the situation. Home Secretary Madhukar Gupta and Defence Secretary Vijay Singh arrived here this evening and then flew to Srinagar for a late night meeting with the Governor NN Vohra. Early Times Reporter Jammu | Aug 4 As the agitation for return of controversial piece of land to Shri Amarnath Shrine refuses to ebb, two more lives were lost today after massive tension erupted between protesters and Police in Samba. Five more have been reported injured in the Police action and two of them are stated to be critical. Large-scale demonstrations erupted in tension gripped Samba after killing of two agitators in the Police action. Early Times Reporter Baltal | Aug 4 Governor, Mr N N Vohra, today visited Baltal and Domail to take stock of facilities at Baltal and Domail which cater to the requirements of the pilgrims to the Shri Amarnathji Cave Shrine, particularly in the context of the damages caused to the tented accommodation and the temporary shops at the Holy Cave consequent to a sudden cloud burst last week.
