Babita's abduction
12/21/2012 12:49:43 AM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 20: Taking serious note of police failure to trace out a young girl who was allegedly abducted in September, the State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) put the Director General of Police (DGP) on notice.
The SHRC sought a detailed report from DGP and SSP Jammu regarding failure of police to trace out the girl. The police station Domana has also been urged to submit a response on the case on December 21.
The girl, Babita was allegedly abducted on September 17 after she left her house for tuitions. The family lodged a complaint in the police station Domana and put the blame one Ankur Bansal, father of two children. The police took Bansal into custody in connection with FIR No 314 of 2012 under Section 366 of RPC.
The police recovered the Cell No of the missing girl from Bansal's cell. A police officer said Ankur admitted having met the girl. He and his wife then dropped the girl at Purkhoo, the officer said. Notwithstanding this disclosure, Bansal was released.
Sensing foul play, the aggrieved family then approached the SHRC for justice.
