| Political parties, BAJ condemn Indian soldiers' killing by Pak army | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Jan 9 : Condemning the brutal killing of two Indian soldiers by the Pakistan army along Line of Control in Krishna Ghati Sector of Poonch district yesterday, various political parties and leaders while expressing anguish over the incident termed the act as 'barbaric' and 'inhuman'. Expressing anger on behalf of the entire cadre of party, the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) State President Jugal Kishore Sharma has condemned in strongest words the barbaric act of the Pakistan troops in killing and decapitating two Indian soldiers. Sharma said that the act of carrying head of one of the Indian soldier is most inhuman and extreme act of disrespect to the deceased. It is also against the International laws and the UN terms and conditions for treating the enemy soldiers during war time. It is astonishing that even in the absence of war during peace time, such violation of norms of International Military Decorum has taken place. Hitting out at Congress-led UPA government at the centre, Senior BJP leader said that it is because of the inconsistent and soft policy of the Union government that such acts take place repeatedly and the culprits go unpunished. After every such act, the Govt. of India declares that the matter will be taken up at the highest level with Pakistan but no follow up has even been seen, which further encourages the enemy designs. Referring to the peace talks with Pakistan, Sharma said that talks and bullet do not go together and the time has come when the Indian government should reconsider its policy towards Pakistan. Former Union Minister and MLA Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta has also strongly condemned the beheading of the Indian soldiers on patrolling duty along the Line of Control in Poonch Sector bordering Pak occupied Kashmir and stressed for stern measures to bring the guilty to book and expose this sort of barbarism of Pakistan at all forums, in addition to review of the policies for tightening security both inside as also along the Loc/borders. Expressing grief and anguish, Prof. Gupta said that this sort of savagery on part of Pakistan was not new but this time was against the Army Jawans, whereas earlier it was generally confined against the civilians to spread terror. Thus, the design is more meaningful than the earlier acts of terrorists, he added and warned that some bigger designs seem to be at work. Strongly condemning the brutal mutilation of bodies of the two Indian Soldiers by Pakistan's Army by trespassing into Indian Territory, the Chief Patron of Jammu Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) Prof. Bhim Singh said that it amounted to aggression and violation of UN Resolution on LoC. Prof. Singh expressed shock on the failure of Indian Army to monitor the movements of their patrolling soldiers within their own territory. The nation needs explanation from the Indian Army on the total collapse of the security and signal grid which monitors every movement of the patrolling soldiers, Singh said. He said that the highly tragic incident might have taken hours for its accomplishment. The Indian Army leadership cannot be absolved from its responsibility. Is this the right response to CBMs (Confidence Building Measures) taken up by India with its peace loving Pakistan?, Singh added. Bar Association Jammu (BAJ) has also strongly condemned the gruesome killing of two Indian Soldiers by Pakistani troops who unlawfully and illegally entered into the Indian Territory to ambush Indian Army Patrol Party in the border district of Poonch. In the gory incident, Pakistani troops taking advantage of dense fog killed two Indian Soldiers and injured others by entering 800 meters in the Indian Territory. BAJ further said that it is shocking that the Paksitani Troops, as reported in media, have chopped off their heads, one of which they carried with them. Bar Association President Sr. Adv BS Slathia has stated that such an action on the part of Pakistani Troops is worst kind of cease fire violation which needs to be dealt with sternly as people of both the countries i.e. India and Pakistan want peace. BAJ president termed the intrusion and brutal killing as yet another grave provocation by Pakistan Army and appealed to central as well as State Govt including Army Authority to maintain the sanctity of LoC at any cost and also termed the action of Pakistani Troops a brain child of Taliban Mind set. Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janta Yuva Morch (BJYM) held a strong protest demonstration against the gruesome killing of two Indian soldiers. The morcha activists also burnt the Pakistani flag as a mark of protest and raised anti-Pakistan slogans. There was also a scuffle with the heavy contingent of policemen outside Press Club. State President BJYM Munish Sharma while addressing the massive gathering of morcha activists who were protesting against the killing of two Indian soldiers by Pakistani Baloch regiment soldiers said that it is indeed unfortunate that after the partition of the country on communal lines, Pakistan has always violated all the agreements and indulged in unprovoked firing on Indian living along borders and the BSF and army men. BJP State Secretary Yudhvir Sethi said that India has not learnt any lesson from the past approach of Pakistan, which has Jammu and Kashmir on its top agenda and have been making all efforts to snatch this border state. |
