| Illegal appointments mars MC- Shopian and Kunzar | | | Javaid Naikoo
SRINAGAR, Jan 9: After a person namely Masood Ahmad Bhat of Sonsamil Pulwama first got illegally appointed in Municipal Committee Kunzar later this incumbent not only managed himself transferred but also got promoted in Municipal Committee Shopian while the Director Urban Local Bodies Kashmir feels helpless to take any action against the said person.
In a rarest of rare incident Director Urban Local Bodies Srinagar only expressed his dismay over the appointment of said person who later not only got promoted and also managed transferred.
Pertinent to mention that one Masood Ahmad Bhat son of Abdul Rehman Bhat of Sonsamil Pulwama first allegedly got illegally appointed in Municipal Committee Kunzar and thereafter managed his undue promotion besides transfer to Municipal Committee Shopian.
According to the official document one Masood Ahmad was appointed in 2008 vide an order no MC/KZ/2007-08/502 as line man in the pay grade of 2550-3200 in Kunzar Municipal Committee and the copy of this appointment was sent to the then Director Urban Local Bodies Kashmir.
Sources inside the Municipal Committee Shopian said that after almost two years in alleged nexus with the then concerned Executive officer of Municipal Committee Kunzar and Shopian, Masood got himself illegally transferred to Municipal Committee Shopian on 27-03-2010 and within no time he was promoted as Khilaf- warzi Assistant and his pay scale was also upgraded to 3050-4550 putting all set service and promotion norms aside by the officials at the helms of affairs.
According to a letter written by locals of the area dtd 28/12/2012 to Deputy Commissioner Shopian, Director local bodies Kashmir and Commissioner Secretary HUD department Jammu and Kashmir, Masood was found demanding money from people of the area as construction fee without giving any Government receipt earned lakhs by this modus operandi. However, till date no action has been taken against him. The said letter also mentioned the same person has impersonated himself as Personal Assistant of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian and is collecting money from the people by abusing name of DC Shopian.
When contacted Director Local bodies Kashmir expressed his helplessness in this matter arguing that the matter was before the Government. |
