UDHAMPUR, Jan 9 : A Lok Adalat was held today in the District Court Complex under the Chairmanship of Principal District & Sessions Judge, Udhampur, Ashok Kumar Koul. Two benches were constituted to deal and settle the cases referred to Lok Adalat.
First bench comprising of Principal District & Sessions Judge Udhampur, Ashok Kumar Koul and Additional District & Sessions Judge Udhampur, Mohinder Kumar Sharma was constituted to deal with matrimonial, MACT and Bank cases.
Second bench comprising of CJM Udhampur, Jitender Singh Jamwal, DMM Udhampur, Khem Raj Sharma and Advocate Bharat Bhushan was constituted to deal the civil & criminal matters referred by the courts of Chief Judicial Magistrate and other Magistrates at Udhampur.
A total of 25 cases were taken up in the Lok Adalat by two benches out of which 05 MACT/Bank cases and 09 civil/criminal case were settled. An amount of Rs. 80,000 was given as compensation in MACT cases.
Next Lok Adalat will be held on 9th of February 2013. |
