| IED defused on Highway | | | Early Times Report
Rajouri, Jan 9: Security forces has today defused an Intensified Explosive Device (IED) on national highway at Rajouri and averted a bid tragedy. Sources said that a major tragedy was averted by Road Opening Party (ROP) of security forces who detected the IED planted by the militants on roadside near Salini Bridge at Rajouri on the highway this morning. Traffic on the highway was stopped from both sides and Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) defused an IED. Early in the morning at about 10 am, when a road opening party detected an IED on the roadside of a Salani Bridge at Rajouri, the road opening party informed its seniors of the discovery. Within no time, senior army officers, paramilitary forces and local police rushed to the spot and cordoned off the area for about one hour. Vehicular traffic was halted on the national highway for over one an hour on this busy highway. Within in no bomb disposal squad rushed to spot and defused the IED dig near bridge, sources said. In same national highway on October 29 at Dalogra village in Rajouri some 140 km from Jammu, a mobile intensive explosive device (IED) was detected and defused by bomb disposal squad. |
