| Kathua, Ramnagar students protest against 'new recruitment policy' | | | Early Times Report
Kathua/Ramnagar, Jan 9: Students once again are up in arms against the 'new recruitment policy' which the state government has tried to test them after making cat out of the bag. A large number of students of Govt Degree College Kathua held a protest demonstration to oppose implementation of new recruitment policy by the Jammu and Kashmir government. Student leaders while speaking on the occasion alleged that it is against labour norms. Led by student leader Amrish Singh Jasrotia protestors recalled that the Jammu and Kashmir High Govt in last year stayed the state government's decision to implement the new job policy which is now clear and govt is in bid to implement it. They said we strongly oppose the new recruitment policy of the state government as it is anti-youth and against the norms of equal wages for equal work. Amrish Singh said that the policy is yet another blow on the job aspiring educated youths who are already disillusioned by the anti-youth policies of state Government as through this policy Govt has resorted to reduce the salaries of intending employees to just 50% and 75% of basic pay for first two and next three years. "Though there are many other ways and means to save the exchequer from the unwarranted expenditures being incurred on unproductive plans and the luxuries of those who are at the helm of political, executive, and bureaucratic set up in the state yet the state government is trying to siphon financial sources from working class. In a similar protest students of Govt Degree College Ramnagar today staged a massive protest against the state government new recruitment policy. Protesting students demanded early withdrawal of the said policy as it is anti youth policy. Earlier today morning the students led by Surinder Purba (Tinku Purba) and others senior students' leader b boycotted their classes and assembled in College. Amid anti government sloganeering the students staged a massic protest march and condemned government's move of new recruitment policy under which the fresh recruits will be given consolidated honorarium i.e. the basic pay without other perks and incentives for first five years. Among others who spoke on the occasion included Love Jeet, Kuldeep Kumar, Tilak Atri, Man Mohan Singh, Babloo , Ashok Kumar , Bhagh Singh, Manoj Sharma, Sneha, Meenakshi, Anju Devi, Diksha Chowdhary, Meena and others. |
