Even as the school administration, it is learnt, is trying to hush up the case for apparent reasons, the school Principal Sudershan Sonar while giving details of the accident termed it is most unfortunate that they have lost one of their students in the accident. He said the school children were walking in a queue while the deceased girl came rushing towards her bus.He said the seventh class student slipped in front of the bus and collided with it. This is the second major accident involving DPS school bus in the recent months. As many as 40 students of Delhi Public School (DPS), had a narrow escape on October 17, 2012 as the brakes of the bus they were traveling in failed near Raghunath temple. The children were on their way to home. The bus driver lost control over the vehicle after the bus hit a Santro-make car. The DPS Parents Association on today severly criticized the school management and accused them of ignoring their complaints and safety measures required to ensure safety of the school children. Dejected parents sought overhaul of the system in the school. "We are concerned about safety of our wards. This school is looting parents on the name of new schemes and time has come when whole Jammu must agitate the autocratic approach of private schools", they added.
Meanwhile, police have registered an FIR. Investigations are on.
