EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Feb 7: In a simple but impressive function, Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd, Northern Region-II , Jammu felicitated its daring and courageous employees who risked their lives twice within a span of fifteen days to restore the 400 KV Kishenpur-Wagoora Transmission line. As reported earlier, continuous rain and snowfall on 19/20th January and 4th and 5th of February had its impact on 400 KV Kishenpur-Wagoora transmission line of POWERGRID as well. The transmission line was damaged and power transmission in one of its Circuits on both the occasions had got affected (Circuit-I in January and Circuit-II in February) . POWERGRID managed to restore these circuits in the shortest possible time with support of State Administ-ration and Indian Air Force. The team of POWERGRID Engineers who were part of this restoration exercise were Arshad Khan, Mohd. Farooq, Pranav Malhotra, J.P Singh, Mitin , Umer Sidiq, R.S.Reen, Narender Singh, Devinder Kumar, Gain Chand, Sandeep Kumar and Kansara Singh Senior officers including J.P Singh Executive Director , S.K Sharma General Manager(I/C) Projects, K.R.Suri GM(O&M) & A.K.Srivastava GM(ES&-PESM) attended the function. All of them praised these employees for their efforts and appreciated their grit and determination in resolving the challenges being faced by POWERGRID from time to time. Their contribution in this particular restoration was highly lauded. The team on their behalf thanked the management for bestowing honour on them and assured that they will continue to serve POWERGRID in particular and nation as a whole with same sincerity and vigour. |
