| Administration fails to stop cutting of green trees | | | Early Times Report
Kathua, Feb 7: Owning to nexus between Revenue Department and smugglers the felling of green trees are going on without any fear.
After the object of locals, the smugglers have continually been cutting the green trees from the government land at moda Erh and Tedh of Panchayat Juthana at Kathua. Local Ram Singh, Prem, Janak Raj, Chaggar Singh, Kuldeep Singh and Karnail Singh alleged the revenue department Kathua for being fully involved in cutting of green trees in the village Juthana.
They further said that non-serious approaches of administration are boosting the wood smugglers to continue the cutting while this illegal cutting had been put into the kind notice of the Zahidha Parveen Khan Deputy Commissioner Kathua on January 29, but nothing has been done so far.
"In response of our deputation DC Kathua on spot directed the Tehsildar Kathua to take action against the illegal cutting of the green trees from government land but ironically no action has been taken so by the Tehsildar Kathua.
