| Students block road, demand concessional bus fare | | | Early Times Report Kathua, Feb 7: Demanding concessional bus fare charges, the Students of Government Degree College Kathua today blocked college road for more than one hour. Under the leadership of Akhilesh Khajuria, Vari-nder Sharma, Vikram, Sunil Singh, Rohit, Arun Singh, and other Hundreds of student were gather at Collage road and shouted slogan against RTO and DC Kathua. They students blamed that the few days back students approached the DC Kathua and urged for concession in bus fair for students and at that time it was admitted by the DC Kathua in the presence of RTO to take action against the bus conductor, if someone found to deny to give the concession in bus fair to students. "But the same practice is still continuing and conductors are harassing us if we ask for concessional fair, so we are being forced to do a protest in order to ask for justice" said a student. Later, ARTO, Salim Manhas intervened the matter and assured the students that RTO Kathua would never spare the violation of concessional bus fare and would take serious legal action against those who deny for concessional bus fare. "It is the genuine and legal right of the students for which nobody bus can deny for it and in this concern the department would paste the notice in bus and deploy the inspector from Kalibari also" he added. After the assurance the protests was peacefully lifted and clear the college road from blocking for the resumption of traffic movement. |
