JAMMU, Feb 11: Kashmiri Pandits warned the State as well as Central governments of serious consequences in case any thing happens to chairman All Parties Migrant Coordination Committee (APMCC), Vinod Pandit who is sitting on fast unto death for last 13 days at Porbandar (Gujarat) in support of demands of Kashmiri Pandits. In a hard hitting statement leaders of various KP organizations including ASKPC chief H L Chatta, KPC president Kundan Kashmiri, Migrant Youth Forum chairman, Sanjay Koul and its general secretary, Talashi, Ajay Bhat of migrant relief holders today warned the Government of serious consequences in case any wrong happened to fasting APMCC leader due to Government's rigid stand on the charter of demands submitted by him to both Central and state governments. ``We are concerned about the health condition of Pandits who has lost nine kgs of weight in last 13 days'' said Chatta. He took Government to task for its failure in holding parlays with the displaced Pandit leaders sitting on fast at Porbandar or inviting the community for dialogue on the issue. The stoic silence maintained by the Government over the issue has generated a lot of resentment among the community and in case it does not change its stand the agitation launched by Pandit will spread to other parts of the country, he added. Meanwhile BJP national convener, T N Razdhan also came openly in support of Pandit and termed all the demands projected by him as genuine. He urged the Government to solve the problems at an earliest otherwise all nationalist forces will join the struggle. Razdhan expressed the hope that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah will address the genuine demands projected by Pandita. It is unfortunate that state and Central governments have failed to take cognizance of the agitation launched by Pandit who is on fast for last 13 days and whose physical condition ahs also deteriorated to great extent. This is a cause of serious concern for entire displaced community, he added. KPC chief Kundan Kashmiri while extending full support to Pandit said that he himself has joined the fast at Porbandar for two days to express solidarity with the struggle launched by Pandit. He while criticizing the Government said it was a mute spectator to Pandit's fast who has taken up a genuine cause of exiled Kashmiri Pandits forced to flee from their homeland by Pak sponsored terrorism. He said the entire community has been shocked over the rigid attitude of the Government towards Pandit and in case it failed to hold parlays with him on genuine demands the entire community will be forced to come on streets. Meanwhile reaching here from Porbandar said that hundreds of people joined a prayer meeting this evening at Porbandar in support of the demands of KPs and also prayed that good sense will prevail to both Central and state governments and they will hold immediate talks with Pandit and other leaders of the community failing which the agitation will spread to other parts. According to King C Bharti the national spokesman of the APMCC more organizations and leaders from Porbandar and Gujarat have extended full support of Pandit and warned both state and Central governments not to take the issues raised by Pandits lightly as entire Hindu Samaj is with them and join their struggle. The minority Pandita from Valley Kashmir are leading an exiled life for over last 23 years and state and Central governments have ignored their plight and problems altogether, these leaders have said while addressing the gathering , said Bharti, adding they warned the Government that not to take the issue lightly and try to address their problems without any delay. |
