| Blue eyed defy transfer policy in Jammu, Rajouri, Udhampur | | Nepotism galore in PHE department | | Sumit Sharma Jammu, Feb 11: Nepotism and favouritism has become the order of the day in the Public Health Engineering department in Jammu as many blue eyed have glued on to their positions much beyond the tenures fixed for Government employees in the transfer policy of the Government. The fact has been brought to the fore by an RTI query. The admittance of violation of transfer policy by PHE in twin hilly districts came after ET exposed the same by PHE City Division No. 1 Jammu, a couple of weeks ago in which ET reported with evidence that out of 179 officers/officials posted in this particular division, chosen few had managed same postings for the last 10 years and had been enjoying lucrative postings since 1979. In yet another RTI filed by High Court Jammu lawyer and RTI activist namely Kovid Khosla to the PHE division Rajouri and Udhampur who sought information from PHE department regarding period of stay of officials in said divisions, Executive Engineer PHE Division Udhampur stated that the division has 763 employees and among them 343 are engaged in Udhampur, 257 in sub division Chenani and 163 are posted in sub division Ramnagar and barring few, most of them have glued to the same division and sub divisions for the last 15 years. Further, in reply to RTI having No PHER/4174 the office of the Executive Engineer, PHE Division Rajouri said that the division has 678 officers/officials but department allegedly in order to hide the ignominy has brazenly dropped the period of stay of employees in Rajouri division as sought by RTI activist Kovid Khosla. Meanwhile, sources informed that there are 38 employees in this particular division who are on verge of retirement even after serving entire life in this particular division. |
