| HC grants 2 weeks time for posting of DC Srinagar | | |
Jammu, Feb 11(JNF): The High Court today granted time to the state to file reply in a PIL against Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar. The PIL has been listed for hearing on March 4. The order was passed by a division bench of the High Court comprising Chief Justice MM Kumar and Justice Hasnain Massodi when the state counsel requested the situation was not conducive for considering the issue of posting of the Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar. A migrant pandit in a letter addressed to the Chief Justice asked why persons involved in scams should be posted at key positions. The Chief Justice treated the complaint as a CMA in a PIL on Gulmarg land scam.. According to the complaint Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Baseer Ahmed Khan is allegedly involved in so many scams. Recently a Division Bench of the State High Court directed State Vigilance Organization to file challan against said DC in Gulmarg Land Scam.The complaint submits why a corrupt official facing land scam and other corruption case pending in Vigilance Organization is posted on such vital public dealing office where he can create hardships to poor people by demanding bribe for mere official routine work in land cases etc.
In the complaint it is further submitted that Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Baseer Ahmed Khan has made life of common people miserable by his rude behavior and charging bribe through his subordinates for discharging routine official work. He (Deputy Commissioner Srinagar) claims that nobody can touch him not even Omar Abdullah as long as Ashairwad of Congress was with him. |
