JAMMU, Feb 11: Jammu and Kashmir Forest Department today retained the All India Forest Football Championship trophy outplaying Goa 3-1 in the final playe at Punchkola in Haryana. As per the reports reaching here, Waseem Javid, Khalid and Shahid Mushtaq were the scorers in the title clash. It was for the fourth consecutive time that J&K Forest clinched the coveted trophy. Earlier, in the semifinals, J&K blanked Chattisgarh 3-0. Meanwhile, star performer of the department, Suhail Ahmed has won two gold medals in cue game. Suhail won both billiards and snooker events in the ongoing all India Forest Sports Meet. The J&K Forest team has also made it to the final of the All India Sports Meet after they defeated Orissa in the semifinal played at Punchkola today. Now, J&K shall take on Chattisgarh in the final to be played tomorrow. Meanwhile, the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF), J&K, Vinod Ranjan congratulated the state contingent, especially the title winning football team, for the outstanding performance at the AllIndia Forest Sports Meet. |
