| vPIL against unauthorized construction by land mafia HC directs JMC to file status report | | | | Jammu, Feb 11 (JNF): In a public interest litigation against alleged illegal construction by the Land Mafia, today the Division Bench of State High Court comprising Chief Justice MM Kumar and Justice Hasnain Massodi took serious note for not filling status report which was required to be filed by the Jammu Municipal Corporation with regard to the allegations of illegal construction by land Mafias. Division Bench after hearing Advocate Virender Bhat appearing for the PIL and Advocate SS Nanda appearing for the JMC, also directed JMC that they shall file information with regard to site plans sanction so far under the Municipal Corporation Act or any completion certificates issued in respect of any completed buildings within two weeks. The PIL filed by one Naresh Kumar Gupta alleging that some illegal and unauthorized construction is being raised by the Land Mafia in the residential area at Mohalla Paharian near Geeta Bhawan Jammu. In the PIL further allegations that the construction is the result of conspiracy with the watch and ward staff, Chief Enforcement Officer, Senior Town Planner and Other Officers of the Jammu Municipal Corporation. |
