| JKS demands inclusion of Jat community in Legislative Council | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 11 : Jat Kalyan Sabha (JKS) demanded inclusion of one of its community member in the Legislative Council, here today.
As per press release a meeting of JKS was held here under the leadership of its president Ch. Kamal Singh in which the participants expressed the view that the community always remained loyal to Congress party throughout the history of Independent India and always remained with and voted for congress through thick and thin.
"Inspite of the fact the community being loyal, supporter of Congress, the party has not shown seriousness towards the community. While distributing tickets for assembly elections the Congress always betrayed the community.
It is not out of place to mention here the community is in winning position in thirteen Assembly segments" they alleged.
The community appealed the Congress party through Kalyan Sabha to give at least one MLC seat of the community as have no representation in the legislative assembly or legislative council & cabinet inspite of the fact they have huge population in the state. |
