Rajouri, Feb 25: All hopes for Fakir Hussain, a blind beggar from Bandanaka village of Kotranka in Rajouri district, anchored upon to the educate his son Tufail Hussain to weed out the poverty dashed to the ground as his graduate son was denied his rights to Rehbar-e-Taleem (ReT) Teacher appointment. The unemployed graduate son a blind bagger Tufail Hussain a hapless victim of favouritism has finally threatened state government to go on hunger as his only hope of being selected as a Rehbar-e-Taleem teacher was dashed when a less qualified candidate was allegedly preferred over him. Agitated over the favoristim and nepotism in government set up, Tufail briefly said, "Since past five months, I am running pillar to post for my ReT job, but nothing positive have come owing to favoritism and nepotism." He also threatened to sit on hunger strike if justice is debited to him. Meanwhile Peoples Democratic Party, leader Shahzad Khan who organized a press conference in Rajouri to announce his support to victim of favouritism criticized the apathetic and indifferent attitude of the government towards the son of blind bagger Tufail who is running pillar to post from past five months. He said that earlier in December 2011, Tufail had applied for the post of teacher under ReT but as per the official circular, the notification was withdrawn due to retrospective posts. The same was later advertised again in July 2012 but the candidates who had applied earlier were not considered. However due to pressure from all spheres including media, the Chief Education Officer (CEO) in September 2012 directed the concerned Zonal Educations Officers to consider the cases of the applicants who had applied in the light of the first advertisement but the literate youth who struggled hard to complete his graduation despite financial constraints. Among others present in this press conference were Mohammed Tufail, Faqir Mohammed, Nadeem Sheikh, Mohammed Sayeed and Barkat Hussain. |
