Jammu, Feb 25: Bahartyia Janata Party's (BJP's) Anusuchit Jaati Morcha on Monday celebrated 636th birth anniversary of Guru Ravi Dass. According to press release, the celebration progamme of BJP's Anusuchit Jaati Morcha was organized at party headquarter. Speaking on the occasion, BJP's chief spokesperson Dr Jitendra Singh said that it was the efforts of social reformers like Guru Ravi Dass that the down trodden sections of the society were today considered as an important and indispensable part of the national mainstream of India.He said that the successful struggle through which these down trodden sections have achieved the status of respect in the Indian society. State General Secretary of BJP Kavinder Gupta said that the Guru Ravi Dass were born at the time when there was discrimination on the name of caste. The members of Scheduled Caste (SC) community were treated as untouchables. "Guru Ravi Dass took the mission of fighting this social evil and grant of equal respect to all the religions and castes" he said. Surinder Bhagat said that the real tribute to Guru Ravi Das would be given by work for taking his philosophy to the masses and get united to ensure that the dalits were not discriminated any more.
