| Charak demands implementation of CWC recommendations in budget session | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 25: Dema-nding empowerment of Phanchayats at grass root level, Member of Congress Working Committee (CWC) Gulchain Singh Charak today stressed upon state government to implement recommendations of CWC in upcoming budget session. "Congress has been supporting empowerment of Panchyat and even Rahul Gandhi had taken initiatives" he said on the sidelines of a function at Dogra Sadar Sabha. He further added that their collation partner National Confere-nce (NC) was delaying to implement recommendations because of special status of Jammu and Kashmir. He said that the empowerment of pahncyat was the best way to save the precious life of Panches and Sarpanches. "In the panchyat elections 80 percent of people have caste their votes" he said adding that huge percentage of voters expressed that the people wanted empowerment of panchayt. "If panchyat representatives' works for the welfare of masses, no one dare to kill them" he said. He said that it was quite impossible to provide security to 36000 representatives of panchayat and appealed state government to take concrete measures to which ensure their safety. Meanwhile, he expressed serious concern over the deaths of Panches and Sarpanches. |
