Teenage girl among Four Injured in Bijbehara, dozens vehicles damaged

Anantnag, Mar 6 : Already volatile, the situation in Kashmir seems heading more tense with street protests spreading fast from Srinagar city, major towns to far-off rural pockets and during evening clashes in Anantnag, a teenage (17yrs) girl sustained injuries in south Kashmir's Bijebhara when agitating mob restored to stonepelting and attacked their vehicle on its way from Jammu to valley.
Fearing trouble after the killing of a youth in alleged army firing on Tuesday, the authorities imposed strict curfew in some areas and prohibitory restrictions on Wednesday .
Despite restrictions, there were clashes between stone-throwing youth and security forces.
A 17 year old girl from North Kashmir Baramullah District sustained injuries in south Kashmir's Bijebhara when some youth restored to stone pelting on the vehicle in which she along with family was coming back from Jammu. 17 year old girl identified as Misbah Rafiq d/o Rafiq Ahmad resident of Bramullah injured in clashes was shifted to District Hospital (DH) Anantnag for necessary treatment were she is being treated.
During the clashes, two CRPF men and one JKP Jawan got injured and while as number of private vehicles got damaged after the youth attacked pelted stones on them in the area.
Eyewitnesses told Early Times that youth continued damaging vehicles till late night because of the imprudence of government forces.
As per reports youth came out in the evening on roads in various areas of Anantnag and Kulgam district and damaged number of private vehicles after attacking them. Sources said that in Bijbehara around 6:00pm a group of young people came out on Kashmir highway and resorted to stone pelting resulting to minor injuries to two CRPF jawans 90 Battalion CRPF. At Sangam Bijebhara, one policeman identified as Mohd Imran belt number 801 posted at Lethpora police station got injured and was accordingly shifted to District Hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile in Anantnag and Kulgam situation during the day hours remained by and large peaceful with the heavy deployment of government forces in main town areas but in the late evening youth at different places in the twin districts of southern Kashmir protested and damaged private vehicles by pelting stones on them.
