| Ajat shatru embarrasses Omar, seeks reins of JK | | | Navneet Dubey
Jammu, March 6: National Conference MLC and scion of Dogra dynasty Ajatshatru Singh today created an embarrassing situation for his party when he demanded that the reins of Jammu and Kashmir State should be handed over to those who owned it.
Ajat shatru made this demand while speaking on adjournment motion on 'killing of a youth at Baramulla' in the Legislative Council today.
While referring to the remarks of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah that it is not easy to run the state and not everything is in the hands of the Chief Minister, Ajat Shatru demanded, "If you cannot run the state kindly handover it to those it belonged".
As Ajatshatru spoke about the change of guard in the state, the entire House was stunned particularly the NC members since the MLC belongs to the ruling party. It was indeed an awkward situation for the ruling NC as it was least expected that one of its members could raise a question mark on CM's leadership.
Moreover, he was elected as a MLA form Nagrota constituency as NC representative in 1996.
During that period Ajatshatru Singh has also served as cabinet minister when Dr. Farooq Abdullah was Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir. |
