| If Guru's body is brought to Kashmir 20 Lac people will participate in his last rites | | | Bashir Assad
Jammu, March 8; Independent MLA, Er Rashid today claimed that if the dead body of parliament attack convict, Afzal Guru is brought back, twenty lac people will participate in his funeral procession and that was the reason that the state government was not serious in pursuing the demand for return of his mortal remains. "If people in such huge numbers come out for a "terrorist", you should understand with whom the people are in Kashmir" said Rashid.
Talking to media persons outside the state assembly today, Rashid said the government stands exposed on the issue which has now barred the people from even performing Friday prayers by imposing severe curfew during which even birds were not allowed to fly. Lashing out at Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for his "helplessness" remarks, and imposing curfew across the valley, Rashid said if does not care for his people he has no right to sit in the chair. "They stand exposed before the public and Chief Minister cannot escape the responsibility" said Rashid. Earlier there was a verbal spate between PDP legislator, Mushtaq Ahmad Shah and Er Rashid on the floor of the house. The trouble started when Rashid kept crying in the well of the house over Kashmir situation, Mushtaq Shah whose question on road connectivity in Tral constituency was listed for today's business could not ask supplementary on his question because of the noise created by Rashid. On this Mushtaq Shaw was irked who cried on Rashid accusing him of playing to the galleries. Later talking to Early Times outside the assembly, Mushtaq Shah lashed out at Rashid for his dubious role saying that on one side Rashid is always on his foot against the government inside the house while on the other side, he continues to give outside support to the NC led coalition government and take it side on crucial issues whether it was election to the upper house seats or election to the Panchayats. "Why does not he withdraw his support to the government, why he abstained from voting to 4 MLC seats at the behest of political secretary to Chief Minister yesterday" said Shah. Shah said Rashid is actually having deep understanding with the ruling NC, that is why he supports them in all crucial matters wherever they need his help. "Rashid is playing to the galleries otherwise he is very dare to NC and NC is dare to him" alleged Shah. |
