| Two persons caught with intoxicant capsules at District Court premises | | | ET Plus Report Jammu, Mar 8: A day after publication of news report pertaining alleged supply of intoxicating drugs to under-trials at District Court Complexes, the police personnel of security wing deputed at court premises here tightened its noose around the unscrupulous elements. The police personnel apprehended two persons and recovered some intoxicating capsules from their possession. "Following the publication of the news report in Early Time Plus in its March 7 edition, the senior police officers took cognizance of the same and sought an explanation from the police personnel deployed at District Court complexes. Instructions were passed to the subordinate staff to maintain strict vigil on suspected persons," reliable sources in Police Department revealed to Early Time Plus. Sources further shared that "following directions from the seniors, the police personnel on Thursday noon intercepted two persons separately and frisked them. During frisking, a small number of intoxicating capsules were recovered from their possession. From one, 10 intoxicating capsules were recovered while from another eight intoxicating capsules were recovered." "However," sources pointed out that "the duo was handed over to area police for further investigation". While the concerned senior police officers remained tight-lipped over the issue, reliable sources indicated that "the police are trying to ascertain the fact that whether the duo apprehended by police personnel are drug addicts or drug peddlers roaming in the District Court Complexes to supply the same to under-trials." It is worthwhile to mention here that Early Times Plus in its March 7 edition had reported that there are certain unscrupulous elements that are supplying drugs like Charas, Opium and intoxicant capsules to under-trials after giving a slip to police personnel deployed there in the court premises. |
