| Tragic road accident leaves 15 dead, 24 injured in Rajouri | | 10 persons airlifted to GMC, Jammu | | ET Plus Report Jammu, Mar 8: Despite repeated claims of State Government of taking necessary steps for controlling road mishaps, in yet another tragic incident, about 15 passengers got killed and 24 others including three infants received injuries when a tempo traveler in which they were travelling rolled down into 400 feet deep nullah near Mandir Gali in border district of Rajouri, today. Out of the total injured persons, atleast 10 critically injured persons were immediately air-lifted to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H), Jammu where doctors attending them started advance treatment. According to Police, the tragic incident took place at around 11 am. When the passenger vehicle bearing registration number JK11-6437 was on its way from Mandir Gali to Rajouri town, the driver of the ill-fated tempo traveler lost his control over the steering and the vehicle rolled down into a deep gorge resulting into on the spot death of at least 15 persons including men and women and injuries to 24 persons. Soon after receiving the information of the mishap, number of police teams led by senior police officers of the district and the zonal range rushed to the spot and initiated rescue operation. All the critically injured were evacuated and rushed to district hospital Rajouri where 15 persons were declared as brought dead. The deceased have been identified as Muneer Hussain (25) son of Lal Din of Swari, Alam Shah (42) son of Sadar Shah Of Swari, Noor Hussain (78) son of Alam Din of Landoth, Shamim Akhter (15) son of Mohammad Bashir of Trala, Shamim Akhter (15) son of Mohammad Bashir of Trala, Shamim Akhter (15) son of Mohammad Bashir of Trala, Mir Hussain (45) son of Shah Wali of Sakri, Abdul Rashid (55) son of Mehar Din of Rehan, Shah Bir (40) son of Mohammad Shafi of Sakri, Mst Begum (35) wife of Nabia of Swari, Abdul Aziz (40) son of Mohammad Ismail of Rehan, Shah Zaman (42) son of Mattu of Dhar Sakri, Mst Tazim Akhter (20) wife of Altaf of Kanthol, female baby, daughter of Altaf Hussain of Sakri, age 06 months, male baby son of Mohd Khan of Kanthol, age 27 days and male boy son of Mohd Qayoom of Kanthol, age 1 month. Out of the 24 injured, ten critically injured persons have been airlifted to Government Medical College (GMC) for advance treatment. They have been identified as Swarn Singh (45) son of Naseeb Singh of Swari, Mohammad Ashraf (25) son of Shah Mohammad of Rehan, Mst Nazia (25) wife of Mohammad Farooq of Rehan, Mst. Billo (40) wife of Mohammad Shafi of Swari, Mst. Naseem Akhter (25) wife of Mohammad Qadir of Swari, Mst. Saleema Akhter (40) wife of Abdul Qayoom of Trala, Mohammad Junaid (25) son of Nabia of Rehan, Mohammad Pervez (26) son of Sabar Hussain of Tata Pani, Manjakote, Mst. Shaheen Akhter (25) wife of Mohammad Hanief of Swari and Aziz son of Mohammad Din of Swari. The other injured who have been admitted in district hospital Rajouri have been identified as Mst. Parveen Akhter (25) wife of Mohammad Shabir of Swari, Mohammad Riaz (21) son of Mohammad Shabir of Swari, Mohammad Younis (19) son of Abdul Rashid of Dhar Sakri, Mrs. Jyoti Sharma (30) wife of Falail Sharma of Dhar Sakri, Kamal (35) son of Ved Parkash of Swari, Monika Devi (23) daughter of Sukhdev Singh of Swari, Chandian (35) son of Lal Din of Ladioth, Mohammad Shafi (50) Son of Makhna of Swari, Mst Guddi (30) wife of Abdul Qayoom of Trala, Mst.
