| ABVP organizes seminar on women | | | | Jammu, Mar 8 : Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarathi Parishad (ABVP) has organized a seminar on "Women and Emerging Security Issues in Contemporary India" on the eve of International Women Day at the seminar hall of Department of Mathematics, University of Jammu. According to press release, the occasion Prof. Abha Chauhan H.O.D Department of sociology was chief guest. About 100 students participated in this seminar. Speaking on the occasion, she laid emphasis on the laws that are needed to be made which are genders sensitive. She said that gender sensitive courses must be organized in educational institutions, police academies. She also talked about the patriarchal structure of the society. The guest of honour, Rajesh Bakshi, Chief Prosecuting Officer J&K police, in his address said that women should be acknowledged of laws for security of women .According to him Education and Parental teachings play a vital role in character building of members of our society.
