KATHUA, Mar 8: Police Training School (PTS)-B today registered a 15 runs win over Wizard Cricket Club (WCC) to sail into the final of the ongoing Kathua Premier League Twenty20 Tournament at Sports Stadium, here. Earlier, batting first, after winning the toss, PTS-B set a target of 159 runs for the loss of seven wickets, which, in reply, WCC could not chase and exhausted their quota of 20 overs for 143 runs with one wicket remaining. Sanjay played unbeaten innings of 25 runs off 16 deliveries while Lokesh and Showkat contributed 23 and 15 runs respectively. From WCC, Varun emerged as most successful bowler with three for 20 while Bhanu took one wicket. Later, WCC fell short of 15 runs to the opponent total. Sujay Sharma played fine innings of 22-ball 29 while Ajay contributed 13-ball 23. From PTS-B, Showkat claimed three wickets for 24 runs, followed by Varun, who took one. For his all-round performance, Showkat was adjudged man of the match. Today's semifinal as officiated by Anoop Sharma and Ram Lubaya as umpires while Sheetal was scorer. Now in the second semifinal, scheduled for tomorrow, Stadium (Senior) XI shall take on Tawla Cricket Club (TCC). |
