UDHAMPUR, Mar 8: To strengthen mutual brotherhood and cultural bonds, a week long National Integration Camp being organized by Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangthan, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports (GOI) got under way at Udhampur here on Friday. Additional Deputy Commissioner, Surat Singh inaugurated the camp by lightening the traditional lamp at Community Hall Udhampur. Among others, Zonal Director, Jammu NYK, Nabin Kumar Niak, Deputy Director NYK Zone Jammu, S.S. Keshyap, Deputy Director NYK, M.L. Goja, District Information Officer, Dr. Jagdish Mehra, District Youth Servicer& Sports Officer, Sukhdev Singh, District Youth Coordinator NYK, Udhampur, Sayed Sajad, DySP, HQ, Sukhdev Basin,Volunteers and prominent citizens were present on the occasion. As many as 150 NYK youths of different states of country including Punjab, Madaya Pardesh, Himachal Pardesh, Maharashtra and Jammu & Kashmir are participating in the National Integration Camp. The camp is being organised with an aim to provide an opportunity to the youths coming from different parts of the country to learn the culture, language and tradition of the people through different programmes and activities. The youth hailing from different states presented a colourful and scintillating cultural programme depicting rich culture and tradition of their respective region which was highly appreciated by the audience. |
