| Mankotia demands ban on wine, cigarettes | | | et plus report
Jammu, Mar 8: Panthers Party member Balwant Singh Mankotia today demanded a complete ban on liquor in the state. Mankotia made this demand in the Legislative assembly today during the discussion on budget. He said though finance minister has imposed ban on manufacture, storage, sale of Gutkha, but now government should ban on sale, consumption and stocking of wine and cigarettes and in the State. Mankotia has pointed out, "In the budget presented there was no provision to check the rising unemployment. He added that remuneration of Rs 2000 per month to Sarpaches is not enough; it should have been Rs. 5000 per month. Remuneration of Rs.300 per month should have been hiked". He demanded hike for Chowkidars and Numberdars also. He said that the state industrial policy has totally failed and demanded that at least 90% local workers should be employed in industrial houses operating in the state.
